Lamont is seeking a third term with 63% Morning Consult approval — one of the highest in the country. Connecticut hasn’t elected a Republican governor since Jodi Rell in 2010, and the state has only gotten bluer since. Ryan Fazio is the most credible GOP recruit but a state senator has no name ID infrastructure to compete statewide. Lamont’s bigger threat is a progressive primary challenge from Rep. Josh Elliott, but even that is a long shot. This is a safe hold.
